Children’s Ministry Transition

Categories: About Us,Children,Ministries,Staff

Hello everyone,

The other day, my boys blew me away when they were able to state the main theme for each book in the Old Testament! At that proud papa moment, I realized that I didn’t teach them this stuff!

Once again, I was reminded of how grateful I am for David Gaddy and his work in our Children’s Ministry.

DGaddyBoth he and Jayne are both such a blessing serving in leadership here at Restoration and we’ve all seen the fruits of his labor in our children’s excitement for the Word and their knowledge of God’s Story.

As a staff member and my friend, I get to meet with David regularly. Recently he and I have been discussing his sense that the Lord is leading him to serve in a different way here at Restoration.

After praying about it for a while, David has requested to step down from serving as our Children’s Ministry Director.

David will continue teaching in Children’s Ministry over the summer, just on a more limited schedule. This will give him some much needed time to spend with his family, get some rest and be able to attend our Sunday worship.

However, I’m also grateful to announce that Kelyndra Vieira has accepted the call to serve as our Interim Children’s Ministry Director effective immediately!

KVieiraYou must know how blessed we are that Kelyndra is stepping up into this role—She has been involved in Children’s and Youth Ministry for years, and was part of our ground-breaking “KidStory” program a few years ago.

Kelyndra will carry forward the good work that is being done, as well as develop a sustainable ministry plan that will enable gifted servants to find a place to serve in this awesome ministry. I’m so excited to see how the Lord will use her organizational and people skills, as well as her heart for kids and passion for teaching the Word in creative ways.

Hey, do you know what?

Now would be a great time for you to get connected into a serving role in Area 412 or R:Nursery!

If you feel called and would like to help build up an already great ministry, please contact

Thank you David and Jayne for the spiritual teaching and blessing you have poured into our kids. I know your impact will continue and your love on them is eternal. Kelyndra–you rock! You are well equipped and know this summer transition will be smooth. Thank you for your service. I’m happy to help however I can!
