“But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” [John 4vs23-24]
Have you ever had great seats to a show, concert or game? Have you ever been really, really close to the action? Jesus’ disciples enjoyed a front row seat to seeing history’s greatest moments. They were there when Jesus taught, healed and walked. Every moment must have been electric. Wouldn’t you think?
But as great of a point-of-view as those original disciples had, they were still missing something; the Holy Spirit.
Hebrews 11v39-40 talks about God providing “something better” to all of us, who have come into the Story now, rather than those whose names are recorded in scripture and that is the presence of the Spirit with those of us who give ourselves to Christ.
In the Spirit, we could be living not only as those who get a front row seat to the big game (sorry!) of Restoration that God is playing out, we even get to play!
