Jesus answered him, “Because I said to you, ‘I saw you under the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these.” And he said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.” [John 1vs50-51]
I was on a plane recently and the airline took time to show us a video of their central command center. They said, “Here we are monitoring every flight, all over the world in real time.” They demonstrated this to help us know that we’re safe. That someone is watching over us.
Nathanael was sitting under a tree waiting for his buddy when he was introduced to Jesus. What blew Nathanael away is when Jesus said that he had been watching him sitting under that tree before they even met. (In those days, without GPS, that’s pretty impressive.) But Jesus said basically, “if you find that cool, follow me and I’ll show you way more than that!”
It’s been said that God sees all and knows all. He is all-powerful, omnipotent and omnipresent. And in Christ, He is inviting you into his very presence so that you too will never again feel lost or alone.
