“Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.” [John 21v25]
I’m always curious about those sandwich board signs that declare “Repent! The End is Near.” One reason I get confused is because, according to God’s Word, no one knows when the time of judgement will begin, except the Father.
The other reason I find that phrase confusing is because—
The Bible doesn’t have an end.
The end of the Story is really a new beginning. There is a hope for an eternal (that’s forever Mr. Sandwich Board guy) reign during which we, as those who staked our lives in The Story, will both serve and reign together.
So, since there is no End, that means the Story is going on right now. The gospel is being written over and over again in your life, through you, around you. You are a part of God’s still unfolding Story that is happening right now. And will continue to happen forever and ever.
