Mary therefore took a pound of expensive ointment made from pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. [John 12v3]
Often we read this passage and are drawn to think about the expense of the perfume. And that is a significant detail. But what about the fact that after she opened it up and anointed Jesus’ feet, the whole house was filled with the fragrance?
When we give our lives to Christ and live with passion for Him, blessings may radiate through our whole house.
Deep in the Story, Abram modeled obedience to the Lord and followed His commands. And the Lord promised him blessings throughout his family line.
God sees your family as the community in which He has placed you. For many of us, this may not be the family or household we would have chosen, but that’s where God has planted us. Maybe we don’t come from the greatest, most faithful home. Maybe your spouse, parents, siblings or roommates aren’t walking with Christ. What can you do?
Be faithful and let the fragrance of your love for Christ permeate your entire house. Ask Him to use you to bring renewal in your home!
