“I told you that you would die in your sins, for unless you believe that I am He you will die in your sins.” [John 8v24]
Jesus also said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father but by me.” To many in the world today, this seems unfair. You often hear. “I don’t believe in a god who would limit the promise of heaven to just one way.”
Grace in Christ often makes no sense, when we look at it from the outside.
But you who are reading this devotional have to know this: God made you. About that, there is no doubt. You aren’t here by chance or natural process. Life is too intentional for that to be true. You have been given the gift of life by God, who loves you with a Father’s love.
Maybe that idea of “Father’s love” hits you wrong. Maybe you didn’t have the ideal dad or family experience. Not many of us did. It’s in this kind of relational pain where we experience the reality of sin that is upon us. We’ve all been hurt and, when we’re honest, we hurt others by word, action, and inaction. Broken relationships. And inability to love others. That’s sin.
We also diminish God’s presence. We think we approve Him. We think if we believe, He’s there to the measure that we say He is. Or if we deny Him, that somehow that makes Him not real. This idea that we’re above God and that we judge Him is also sin.
But God, in His grace, didn’t leave us brokenhearted and blind. He came to walk among us. To show us the one way to know Him. The truth about Him. And the way to live life for Him. So that we don’t have suffer and die broken hearted and unsure.
Christ opens up the reality of God’s Story in our hearts, brings us to a place of peace and hope.
If you would like to Know God’s Story for your life, then pray and admit to God your sins (broken relationships and judging Him, etc.), ask forgiveness in Christ and that He would give you a new life.
If you prayed that prayer for the first time, please contact us so we can pray for you.
