In truth, I’m not a fan of end-of-year retrospectives before the year has ended. I mean, anything could still happen, right? But, I couldn’t hold myself back from presenting this list of MASSIVE blessings in 2012. (I really tried to hold myself back—it was “awkward.”)
If you’re reading this after Dec 21st, 2012, then praise God… We made it another day! Regardless of what the ancient calendar said (or didn’t say), the Lord has graciously given us more time to gather around His Unfailing Word, to have our lives transformed in the power of the Holy Spirit and to share His Story with Others around us.
We should count these days as blessed.
Happy Holy Days Everyone!
I believe God has given great favor to Restoration this year and I wanted to list to you some of the exciting ways we’re seeing Him move in, with and through us today…
We welcomed 6 new friends into God’s Story this year! Along with these salvations, many more of us have renewed our commitment to living with purpose in Christ. Praise God for the work of His Holy Spirit among us!
After projecting almost an $80k shortage at mid-year, WE WERE ABLE TO MAKE A FINAL PAYMENT TO THE ECC TO SATISFY ALL OUR (MINIMUM) MORTGAGE OBLIGATIONS FOR 2012!* This is nothing short of a miraculous answer to desperate prayers. Midsouth Superintendent Garth Bolinder responded, “You all are amazing! We praise God from whom all blessings flow! It is humbling & heartening to see The Lord at work in and through you.”
Congratulations to David & Jayne Gaddy for adopting a new son! Six-year-old Daniel was brought into his new home just this week. He’ll join his new sisters, Brittany, Leanna and Audrianna in having the most blessed Christmas ever!
Our Office Admin Julia Uechi got engaged to her Connor Terry! The wedding will be next fall/winter.
We went over and above with the Storehouse Angel Tree. They are delighted by your inspired generosity!
We Shared 1399lbs of food to hungry friends, so they can eat well this Christmas.
Restoration friends pitched in and recently replaced a member’s hot water heater for very, very little cost. Great love and good work!
Nancy Brieger’s Connections Ministry is helping all of us “find our place” in God’s unfolding Story here! She’s off on a well-deserved family vacation.
Our YAMs reported their best and most passionate gathering last week.
The Youth’s Rock Solid Christmas party was a massive success and tons of fun. How much has that ministry grown in depth and size this year?! We’re thankful for Austin Bailey’s faithful leadership.
Emily Sanders is within reach of her financial goals in order to mission in Australia with YWAM in late January. We’re excited and we’ll miss her.
Last Sunday’s (12/14) attendance (160) was our 2nd highest since Easter (172). We’ve in our 8th month of having new friends visiting in every service… and we’re growing in depth and numbers!
Friends… Thank you for allowing me to serve with you this year. I’m so thankful for each and every one of you. “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that, by the power of the Holy Spirit, you may abound in hope.” Romans 15:13
